Code it Like a Girl welcomes submissions and pitches by anyone. If there’s something you want to write-talk-film about and share it with our audience, we’d love to receive your submission!
The process that should be followed is the following:
- Visit our contact page and type “Pitch” as the subject of your message.
- Start your e-mail with a short (max a paragraph) introduction of yourself.
- Pitch! Tell us about the piece you want us to publish. You should include a proposed headline, the main idea of what you want the reader to understand/think/do or learn, why should anyone care about this subject.
- If you have already created a draft of the piece it would be really helpful to include it as well. (optional)
General requirements and other info:
The piece should fall into one of the categories of our website, as they appear in our main navigation menu, and be approx. 1000-1500 words.
We encourage authentic and valuable submissions and we’ll be very selective on what we’re finally going to publish. If the piece is already published somewhere else it will not be considered.
If you get rejected, do not be discouraged. You can pitch as many times as you wish, but do try to follow our feedback next time you pitch!
We’ll be reviewing the pitches almost daily, so do follow up if we’re more than 4 days late in our reply.
We accept pitches by anyone without any discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex (gender identity and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability or genetic information. Code it Like a Girl promotes equality and will not consider racist or in any way insulting submissions.
